STAR Fund
Northwestern Pritzker School of Law is committed to ensuring all students benefit from everything Northwestern has to offer, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Currently, close to 20% of Northwestern Pritzker Law students hail from low-income and/or first generation families. The Student Assistance and Relief (STAR) Fund combats the disproportionate financial burden that low-income and Public Interest students suffer and ensure that all of our students can participate fully in our academic community.
While financial aid packages address tuition, room and board, and books, they do not cover housing, family, and health emergencies that can disrupt students’ lives and prevent them from finishing their degrees. The STAR Fund provides small emergency grants that bridge the gap for students without a personal financial safety net. It also defrays costs associated with job preparedness for Public Interest students, such as interview travel costs and bar course materials.
This emergency aid can sometimes be the difference that allows a student to complete their Northwestern Pritzker Law education and successfully begin their career.
