Inaugural Alumni Awards Luncheon

Join us as we host the Law School’s Inaugural Alumni Awards Luncheon. The Awards Luncheon will give us an opportunity to acknowledge the significant impact our esteemed alumni make, not only on the Law School, but in the legal and business communities. Awards include the Distinguished Alumni, Volunteer Service, Emerging Leader, Dean’s Partnership, International Alumni and  Dawn Clark Netsch Awards. The luncheon will be held  Friday, September 27, at 12:00 p.m., at the University Club in downtown Chicago. Tickets are $75 each (tables of 10 can also be purchased) and all Law Community members are invited to attend. More information...

Global Café

Global Café is an informal weekly gathering for LLM and LLM/K students.  Alumni from these programs are invited to join Global Café and meet current LLM and LLM/K students and share stories of your time at Northwestern Law.

Law School Tour
Meet in the Atrium near the registration tables to take a guided tour of the Law School with a Northwestern Law student, or pick up an information sheet from the registration table that describes key Law School classrooms and structures for a self- guided tour throughout the day.

Defining Your Professional Image and Personal Brand
Finding your personal style and voice in the business world doesn't have to be limited to black and blue suits. Learn tips and tricks from personal stylists on building your wardrobe, the importance of tailoring, and blending a professional appearance with your personal style. Legal recruiter and consultant Jennifer Levin JD '02 will discuss building your professional brand and getting ahead in the competitive legal field.

Women's Leadership Coalition Alumnae Panel

Join panelists Judy Biggert (JD '63), Anne Fredd (JD '73), Carol Genis (JD '88), Abby Mollen (JD '08) and Randi Roberts (JD '88) as they share experiences and offer practical tools for meeting some of the common challenges women face in the legal field. A reception will follow. This event is co-hosted by the Women's Leadership Coalition (WLC).

2:30–3:45 p.m.
Anatomy of a Study Group Alumni Panel

Northwestern Law Class of 1978 alumni Neil Eggleston, Sidney "Skip" Herman, Gary Sumers and Judge Richard Tallman will share how their Law School study group evolved into a friendship spanning over 35 years, offering insight on the importance of maintaining connections to classmates, career paths and lessons learned along the way. Discussion will be followed by Q & A.

3–4 p.m.
Rare Books Presentation with Professor Emily Kadens

Professor Emily Kadens will present the "History of Law Through Rare Books." Attendees will have the opportunity to view some of the fascinating pieces in the Law School's extensive Rare Books collection.

4:00–5:00 p.m.
Conversation with Dean Rodriguez

During this question and answer session, Dean Dan Rodriguez will share his thoughts about the future of the Law School and will welcome a discussion among the alumni community on the myriad challenges facing law schools today.

5:30–7 p.m.
Law School Community Reception

Enjoy festive music and food while you catch up with former classmates and professors Mingle with student leaders, both past and present, to learn about how student groups have changed and evolved over the years.
Participating organizations include Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA), Black Law Student Association (BLSA), Intellectual Property Law Society (IPLS), JD-MBA Student Association, Law Review, OUTLaw, Womens Leadership Coalition, and more!

Tax Ethics in the Controversy Context: Examination, Appeals, and Litigation

Our special guest will be Justice Dalveer Bhandari LLM '72, a former member of the Supreme Court of India and now a judge on the International Court of Justice at the Hague.

Hop on for a scenic tour of the city aboard a historic street car. See historic landmarks including Grant Park, Art Institute of Chicago and of course our Northwestern Law campus.

Supreme Court Roundup

This panel featuring Northwestern Law faculty will review important decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court from the 2013 term.
Entrepreneurship and Northwestern Law
Moderated by Esther Barron JD '95, Director of the Entrepreneurship Law Center, this panel session will discuss Northwestern Law's impact on Chicago and its burgeoning entrepreneurial scene.

Navigating the Admissions Process

Northwestern undergraduate and Law School admissions staff will discuss and answer questions about the competitive admissions process.

Bluhm Legal Clinic: A Year in Review

 This overview led by Director Tom Geraghty JD '69 will feature an update on current activities and highlight achievements from the past year.

The Business of Professional Sports
Meet the leaders who are at the forefront of defining and creating the business of sports. This panel will cover the legal and business challenges facing professional sports organizations, agencies and athletes. Panelists include Jared Bartie JD '93, David Rone JD '87, Andrew Stroth JD '99, Jon Vegosen JD '76 and Mark Walter JD '85.

Alumni Family Picnic

Join us for a casual cookout in the courtyard! This family-friendly event will feature BBQ fare, music and kid’s activities. This event is co-hosted by the Northwestern Law Alumni Club of Chicago.
